Sandy Kasprzyk, PsyD, Licensed Clinical Psychologist
Dr. Sandy Kasprzyk's approach to therapy is grounded in an appreciation for the interrelationship between the biological, psychological, social and spiritual aspects of care. She views the individual's concerns within this context, as well as the context of his/her family, culture and community.
Goals for treatment are established collaboratively and are determined by the nature and intensity of the individual's circumstances. Dr. Kasprzyk works from a pyschodynamic perspective, integrating cognitive-behavioral techniques, psychoeducational interventions, family therapy and community outreach to foster both problem resolution and ongoing change and development.
Dr. Kasprzyk's areas of expertise include:
- Psychotherapy for children and adolescents presenting with a broad range of problems including depression, anxiety, panic disorders, attention problems, learning problems, reading disorders, underachievement related to learning style, peer pressure, bullying, self-injurious behaviors, emotional abuse and sexual abuse.
- Consultation to teachers and school administrators regarding development and implementation of IEP goals. Related parent teaching and support.
- Grief/loss issues related life transitions, chronic and debilitating medical conditions and the suffering inherent in living with a terminal illness.
Dr. Kasprzyk welcomes the opportunities to work with clients through providing psychological treatment and care of individuals referred to Agor Behavioral Health Services, Inc.
Education
Dr. Kasprzyk completed the Carl G. Jung Clinical Training Program (CTP) in June 2006. She earned a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (PsyD) from Illinois School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Kaspryzk earned a Master of Arts Counseling Psychology from St. Xavier University, a Master of Science Health Service Administration from St. Francis University, a Bachelor of Science Health Arts from St. Francis University and an RN from Mt. Sinai Hospital School of Nursing. Dr. Kasprzyk is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist.
